Lis has over 30 years of experience as a Chief Human Resources Officer in a number of healthcare and insurance organizations, as well as serving as a Consultant with experience in the military, human resources, and strategy/marketing consulting firms. 

Experience includes:

• Proven success developing, implementing, and leading creative strategies and building relationships to accomplish business and strategic objectives.
• Ability to quickly assess short wins and implement significant cost effective savings in health, benefit, wellness, and retirement programs while enhancing employee engagement and retention.
• Implemented solutions to decrease OSHA recordables and workers’ compensation claims to some of the lowest in the healthcare industry.
• Created teams that are not only valued by the organization, but achieve results, as well as using creativity, leadership, and innovative skills to be a change agent.
• Success in assessing culture, leadership, and people practices to recommend and implement changes to attract, retain, and develop exceptional talent.
• Led the Willis Towers Watson Columbus, Ohio office, overseeing client relationships of several large organizations, and the delivery of the company’s products and services across Central Ohio.

Lis wears many hats.  She is currently President and Founder for Evensen & Associates, and is a Sr. Consultant for Practical Solutions—HR specializing in executive coaching and human resource consulting for medium-sized companies., Executive Coach for Briefcase Coach, Director of Human Resources for Alpinista Investments, and HR Executive Partner for Inspired Nurse Leaders.

Lis has served as an adjunct faculty member at Xavier University and Ohio University, spoken at a number of conferences in the area of leadership development and human resources, was awarded Human Resources Executive of the Year by Columbus CEO Magazine for 2017, was a member of Leadership Columbus 2017, and Ohio Diversity Woman of the Year in 2014.

Lis is currently the Vice Chair of the Board for Specialized Alternatives for Family and Youth (SAFY)  serving foster youth and their families, and Member, Ohio University Healthcare Leadership Advisory Board.

Lis earned a B.A. from Smith College, a M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Virginia Tech, and is certified in a number of personality assessment instruments.
